The duo’s horror movie, “Spook Bridge,” will first show in Valdosta Stadium Cinemas Friday through Sunday, April 13-15. Viewing times are as follows each day: 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

“It’s like a filmmaker’s dream to have their movie shown in the theater,” Kirkland said. “I’m particularly excited about it because it focuses on an area here in South Georgia.”

The R-rated movie centers on a bridge located across the Withlacoochee River in Quitman, where reporter Clyde Adams is in search of answers. He investigates the murders of three teenagers, as well as his parents who were found on the bridge after being murdered.

According to the filmmakers, there have been multiple “mysterious and unexplained deaths” on this bridge through its history.

“The legend holds up on its own, so this movie digs into our version of the legend,” Sebastian said.

“Spook Bridge” lasts for one hour and 50 minutes, and is RKDS’ first feature film to be released in theaters, Kirkland said. It was first shown October 2017 in Mathis City Auditorium.

Kirkland noted most of the bad language has been eliminated from the horror movie, largely the use of the f-word.

“This is a great opportunity for everyone in South Georgia to see this movie made on the big screen,” he said.

“The Legend of Spook Bridge” will play during closing credits. It is a song written by Tri Chord Music Group and performed by John Emanuel.

RKDS is currently in contract negotiations with Amazon and the video-sharing platform Vimeo to either sell or rent out “Spook Bridge” to consumers.

Due to the negotiations, Kirkland said he couldn’t say much about the national release, but he did confirm it will be eventually distributed nationwide.

He began writing “Spook Bridge” fall 2015, he said, and it was being filmed by June 2016.

The filmmakers will also release two other movies later this year, “Crazed Intent” and “Grandma’s Blessings.”

“Crazed Intent” will focus on a home invasion while “Grandma’s Blessings” tells the story of a grandmother and a broken-down RV.

“Battle of the Cursed,” is a new series that will also be released this year. Kirkland said it will be similar to the “Walking Dead” series.

He said he and Sebastian have been contacted by surrounding county leaders to film in their local areas.

“That’s what we want,” he said. “We want more involvement from our leadership here in Lowndes and Valdosta, and I think we’re going to have that soon.”

Kirkland said RKDS is in search of a larger studio and is requesting the assistance of local officials with this matter.

RKDS has produced seven overall movies, including the comedy “And There You Are,” the first movie.
