LAKELAND, Ga. — “The Original Celtic Woman” will perform to benefit South Georgia Boy Scouts.

Chloë Agnew is on her solo tour and performing a benefit concert for the South Georgia Council Boy Scouts of America, according to organizers. 

Agnew is an Irish singer who started working professionally in the entertainment industry from the age of 6. She recorded and released her first single when she was 11 years old, according to her biography information. 

She recorded her first album at age 12 and her second at 14. She has gained fame worldwide for her integral part as one of the original, and youngest members of the internationally acclaimed music group Celtic Woman since she was 14. 

The debut album reached No. 1 on Billboard’s World Music chart, where it held the top position for a record breaking 81 weeks total. 

To date, Agnew has been featured on a total of 14 Celtic Woman albums. She has recorded in English, Irish, Latin, Japanese, Italian and German. 

Cumulatively, the albums have sold more than 8 million records worldwide and the group has performed for more than 1 million people live in concert throughout the world. 

In 2013, after nearly 10 years, Agnew moved from Celtic Woman to pursue a solo path, according to her bio info. Since, she was the star vocalist at the 2014 Colorado International Tattoo (USA), the 2015 Basel Tattoo (Switzerland) and the 2015 Cape Town Tattoo (South Africa) performing with hundreds of the world’s best military bands for more than 100,000 people. 

The Lakeland event is scheduled for 7 p.m., April 28, at the Threatte Center. General admission seating: $30.
