HCSD asks county for help on SW 55th Drive

JASPER — The Hamilton County School District asked the county commissioners for help repairing SW 55th Drive.
Mike Vinson, Director of Business Services said the road which is next to the football stadium, was milled before school started this year but parents have complained about a section of the road.

He requested enough millings to repair the road from U.S. Highway 129 to the first curve in the road.
SW 55th Drive is used as an entrance for Hamilton County High School due to increased traffic at the main entrance for the elementary school.
School employees, school buses and parents dropping off high school students use SW 55th Drive.
The commissioners approved repairs to the road before school starts.
According to County Engineer Greg Bailey, the road is scheduled to be paved starting in the fall.
