Moleyk Jones, Jay Williams, Blaine Howard and Hunter Allbritton will be rewarded for their hard work in the classroom, the community and on the field.

LIVE OAK — It started in January as a way for Suwannee High football players to take accountability — on and off the field — and get to know each other better. SHS head coach Kyler Hall created a point system that rewarded participation in team activities, behavior in class, grades and community service.

After six months of accumulating points, the team of Jay Williams, Moleyk Jones, Blaine Howard and Hunter Albritton came out on top in the nine-group competition. They will be rewarded with a book bag, t-shirt and steak dinner.

Jones, who had the most points individually, will also get a new pair of cleats for the season.

“The two biggest things we wanted to do were create leadership and a more family type atmosphere,” said Hall. “Also guys getting to know each other better; knowing something about different guys on the team.”

All four players on the winning team agreed — not only did they become closer with their group because of the point system, but also as a team.
