THOMASVILLE — A man told police he was pushed from his wheelchair and robbed, but a video showed the man walking outside the business that complained about the individual, according to authorities.

Employees at the business in the 400 block of South Broad Street asked police to prevent Christian Boudreaux from trespassing on store property.

The man, Boudreaux, told police he did not know who pushed him from his wheelchair and took his property.

“It should be noted that (Mr.) Boudreaux was very intoxicated,” a Thomasville Police Department incident report says.

An officer watched store video that showed the suspect outside the business soliciting money from customers.

The report says Boudreaux approached customers while seated in a wheelchair and asked for money. He would go around a corner and get out of the wheelchair.

“He was seen walking around the building and when a car pulled up; he would get back into the wheelchair and roll over to the new customers on scene,” the report says.

Boudreaux, 47, Thomasville, was charged with public drunkenness and flim-flam in the Wednesday night incident.

Thomas County Jail personnel found $20 in the suspect’s property. Boudreaux told police he solicited the money from store customers.

Boudreaux was released on his own recognizance, pending a court date.
