ADEL — An Indiana woman wanted for killing her husband was arrested Tuesday in Cook County, according to authorities.
Adel police arrested Angelica Castillo of Elkhart, Ind., on a murder warrant issued by prosecutors in Indiana, according to a statement from the office of the prosecuting attorney in Elkhart.
Her husband, Elder Castillo Sr., was killed in May in Elkhart. His body was not found until June 6, according to the Elkhart Police Department.
Adel police found her vehicle in a Walmart parking lot during a routine patrol, the statement said.
She had reportedly given the officers the name Lucy Baker; authorities found the name on a Tift County warrant on forgery charges, according to a news story in the Elkhart Truth.
Police believe she had been living at Sunshine Acres Trailer Park in Cook County for about two weeks prior to her arrest, according to the Elkhart Truth.
The investigation is still ongoing and the Elkhart prosecutors are seeking more information about the circumstances around Elder Castillo Sr.’s death and Angelica Castillo’s flight, according to the prosecutor’s statement.
