VALDOSTA – Seems like Peach State Summer Theatre just gets started and before you know it comes the time it has to say goodbye.

The remainder of “Hello, Dolly!” shows are sold out, said H. Duke Guthrie, PSST! business manager.
However, seats were still available for the remaining performances of Disney’s “Newsies” and “Million Dollar Quartet,” according to PSST! organizers.
Peach State is a professional repertory company that hires working actors and technical staff during auditions throughout the Southeast and in the North while giving professional experience to many VSU Theatre & Dance students. PSST! operates under the umbrella of VSU Theatre & Dance.
Peach State has been part of Valdosta summers for more than a dozen years. The Georgia General Assembly designated Peach State as the official musical theatre of the State of Georgia.
“Million Dollar Quartet” is a musical based on the time Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins jammed together at Sun Records.
“Newsies” is a musical drama based on the newspaper boy strike of the late 1800s.

“Hello, Dolly!” is the beloved musical about a matchmaker’s efforts to find a bride for a miserly businessman. The production marks the fifth time Jacque Wheeler has played the title role.
