Students Make dean’s list at Georgia Tech

ATLANTA — The following area students have earned the distinction of dean’s list at the Georgia Institute of Technology for Spring 2018. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

Local students named to University of Georgia president’s list

Sara Helen Browning and Mary Grace Browning, both of all of Valdosta were named to the University of Georgia President’s List for Spring Semester 2018. To be named to The President’s List, students must be taking more than fourteen hours of classes and earn a GPA of 4.0.

They are the daughters of Russell and Karmen Browning, granddaughters of Charles and Helen Lyons, all of Valdosta. 

Kennesaw State University Class of 2018

KENNESAW, Ga. —  Kennesaw State University recently welcomed its newest class of graduates. Nearly 2,300 students earned bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees during Spring 2018 commencement ceremonies May 8-10.

Area students include:

Anaya graduates from Oglethorpe University

ATLANTA —  Danova Martinez Anaya of Valdosta graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology with a Social Work Concentration from Oglethorpe University.

Valdosta resident named to Simmons College dean’s list

BOSTON, Mass. — Cassandra Vietas of Valdosta, was named to the 2018 spring semester dean’s list at Simmons College in Boston.

To qualify for dean’s list status, undergraduate students must obtain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, based on 12 or more credit hours of work in classes using the letter grade system.

Miller earns college all-academic honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —  Mason Miller of Valdosta was among 29 student-athletes from Tallahassee Community College named to the Florida College System Activities Association’s All-Academic Team for having attained a minimum 3.30 GPA, either during the current academic year or over multiple years.

Miller of Valdosta named to Panhandle Conference All-Academic Team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —  Mason Miller was among 46 student-athletes from Tallahassee Community College named to the Panhandle Conference All-Academic Team for having attained a minimum 3.0 GPA, either during the current academic year or over multiple years.

Local students named to University of Alabama dean’s, president’s lists  Spring 2018 Term

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — A total of 11,347 students enrolled during the 2018 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the president’s List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s).

Jordan Alexandra Hurd and Grayson Tyler Thomas both of Valdosta were named to the dean’s list.

Callie A Rickert of Valdosta was named to the president’s list.

Mireles makes the dean’s List at Rochester Institute of Technology

ROCHESTER, N.Y. —  Dulce Mireles of Enigma, who is in the design and imaging technology program, made the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Rochester Institute of Technology.
