Valiants win back-to-back region titles

The Valwood softball team defeated Southland Academy 9-0 by run rule to earn its second straight GISA Region 3-3A championship Tuesday. Darcee Brown allowed four hits in the circle and Graceigh Booth homered for the Valiants, who earned a bye in the first round of the GISA state playoffs. They host the winner of the Tiftarea Academy-Bulloch Academy game Oct. 13.
