VALDOSTA – Legacy Behavior Health’s Lowndes Service Center held its annual Valentine’s dance.
The dance was held for adult individuals with developmental disabilities, organizers said.
Individuals enjoyed the luxury of being transported by limo, compliments of the Godfreys, organizers said.
Participants were transported to the Howard Johnson Inn. David Burley, manager of Howard Johnson’s Inn, offers his location each year.
Participants’ faces lit up with excitement when they entered the room and admired the beautiful decorations put together and donated by Lynette Council, owner of Worry Free Weddings, organizers said.
They spent several hours listening to music, dancing and had the opportunity to take a horse and buggy ride donated by Walter Byrd.
West Park individuals also attended the event this year.
Freddie Finnissee, Lowndes DD LeadHST, orchestrated the event and put in many hours to ensure the event was successful, organizers said.
Lowndes DD staff all worked hard to make the event special and memorable. DeAnna Bujnowski RN, IDD director, Cathy Folsome, Lowndes DD site manager, Lowndes DD staff, JacQue Wright, West Park group home site manager, and West Park staff attended the event.
Stan’s Quality Meats and Sam’s BBQ donated food and their services.
“This is by far the best Valentine’s party I’ve ever attended,” one participant said.
