LIVE OAK — Planning has begun on Live Oak’s 2019 Freedom Festival, which will include honoring World War II veterans and current first responders.
“Freedom requires heroes,” said Buddy Williams, the Live Oak Police Chief and the chairman of the honors committee, in a release. “We want to honor and recognize those men and women of Suwannee County who served us in World War II, as well as those who work as First Responders locally and continue to serve and protect us worldwide.”
The Freedom Festival’s Community Partnership Street Fair will begin at 5 p.m. July 4, centered at Festival Park, with entertainment and recognitions on the Millennium Stage beginning at 6 p.m.
Fireworks will light the sky behind the Suwannee County Courthouse at approximately 9:30 p.m.
WWII veterans, or family members of a WWII hero, are asked to contact Williams at 386-362-7436.
