A man and woman were sitting in a car when the suspect came up, shot the man and stole the car, Sinclair said.
The car was recovered and sent to the Valdosta-Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory for investigation, he said.
The 18-year-old shooting victim is “sitting up and in stable condition” at South Georgia Medical Center, the lieutenant said Wednesday.
The teen described the suspect as a 5’10” black male with facial hair “slightly longer than stubble” on his chin and wearing a white T-shirt and a red baseball cap.
The suspect could face charges of aggravated assault and theft by taking motor vehicle, Sinclair said.
Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Remerton Police Department at (229) 247-2320, the lieutenant said.
