Byrd’s Power Equipment holds grand opening

The beautiful 25,000 square foot building located at 11860 E. U. S. Highway 27 approximately 4.5 miles west of Branford is the new home of Byrd’s Power Equipment/B’s Starter and Alternator. The grand opening event for this business was held Saturday, Aug. 25 with more than 500 people visiting the new facility during the day.

There was free food and drinks and plenty of it. Guests munched on pizza, enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, muffins, lemonade, coffee, iced drinks and much more.

Sales reps from four companies, Husqvarna, Hustler Pump Equipment, Ranch Hand Truck Accessories and Wildlife Materials, the Byrds partner with were present to assist shoppers and answer questions about the products they sell. By noon according to Jack Byrd one of the owners, two mowers, two saws, a weed eater and a blower had been sold, plus many customers assisted with other needs.

The new complex features two large show rooms, a conference room, offices and a large sales department.

Benita Byrd one of the owners said by noon 250 t-shirts had been given away. “We’ll order more,” said Byrd. “The entire day was beyond our expectations,” Benita Byrd said.

There were a lot of give-a-ways during the day, and many opportunities to register for prizes. The grand prize winner was:

Brenda Aue- with a Husqvarna pressure washer; Tony Zipperer was the winner of the 455 Rancher chainsaw. This was drawn in a raffle. Other prize winners were: Jim Blackshear- mower service-oil change and air filter; Irene Gentry-automotive battery; Jake Hansen- 50 pound shelled corn, a t-shirt and a cap; Bubba Ross- Husqvarna 125L weedeater/trimmer; Robert Snipes- t-shirt and cap; Sara Pilgrim- gallon motor oil and t-shirt; W. E. Hamlin- $50 gift certificate to Byrd’s Power Equipment; Jimmy Dewitt- $50 gift certificate to B’s Starters and Alt; David Griffin- rechargeable work light; Barbara Jo Hewitt- Red Max hand held blower.

Benita Byrd said, “We want to thank all of our customers and the surrounding communities for their loyal support through the years, we are looking forward to continuing our business relations in the years to come. God has blessed us to be able to live and work in the best area of the state.”
