Hamilton County School District honors winners for Teacher, School-Related Employee of the Year

JASPER – The Hamilton County School District honored the winners for Teacher and School-Related Employee of the Year on Thursday, March 13 at a reception held in the cafeteria of the J.R.E. Lee Complex.



Rebecca T. Adams of North Hamilton Elementary was named the 2004 Teacher of the Year for the Hamilton County School District. Linda Shortt, representing Hamilton County High School, was named the 2003 School-Related Employee of the Year for the Hamilton County School District.

All the distinguished guests in attendance for the event were welcomed by Mr. Charles Blalock, Hamilton County School Superintendent. After posting the colors, the Hamilton County AFJROTC led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. Rev. J.T. Simon offered the Invocation.



The presentations for Hamilton County’s 2004 Teacher of the Year for each respective school were as follows: Imogene Scippio Bullock, Hamilton County High School; Cason Hall, Greenwood School; Christie Williams, Central Hamilton Elementary School; Mary Ellen Adams, South Hamilton Elementary; Rebecca T. Adams, North Hamilton Elementary.



The presentations for Hamilton County’s 2003 School-Related Employees of the Year were as follows: Earnestine Johnson, South Hamilton Elementary; Maria Gallegos, North Hamilton Elementary; Missouri Baker, Central Hamilton Elementary; Brenda Lemnah, Greenwood School; Ensley Newsome, General Services Department; Glen Sowells, Hamilton County District Offices. Linda Shortt, Hamilton County High School.



The Hamilton County School District wished to acknowledge the following local businesses and organizations for their support in the event: First Federal Savings Bank; Hamilton County Public Schools Foundation; HCHS Culinary Arts Class; HCHS Air Force Junior ROTC; Harmon’s Trophy Shop.
