Pauline Marie Register
Pauline Marie Register of 1800 India Hook Road, Spring Arbor Assisted Living Community, Rock Hill, S.C., died Monday, May 7, 2007.
Born on Oct. 23, 1917, in Adel, Ga., she was the daughter of the late William Marion and Ethel Mae Register.
Ms. Register retired from the Duval County Schools after 30 years of service; she directed European tours for the Brownell Agency for numerous summers. She graduated from Tallahassee College for Women, where she belonged to Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Fla., before her extended illness. During World War II, Ms. Register worked extensively for the USO and the Red Cross.
Survivors include her nephew, William J. Nichols, Santa Cruz, Calif.; niece, Marie M. Sexton, Rock Hill, S.C.; great-nephew, DeWitt McIntyre Coleman, Jr.; two great-nieces, Monica Coleman Gaddis and Eugenia Louise Clarke; as well as three great-great-nieces; and two great-great nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Nellie Mae Nichols and Mildred Register Meixsell, and her niece, Mildred Nichols Armes, of Merrick, N.Y.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2007, at Lovein Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville, Ga. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice. — Lovein Funeral Home.

Lonnie Matthew Brown Sr.
Lonnie Matthew Brown Sr. son of the late Ben Brown Sr. and Nellie Mae Crawford Brown, born June 1, 1947, in Lowndes County and departed this life on Sunday, May 20 2007.
At an early age, Lonnie joined the Woods Chapel AME Church. Lonnie attended Lowndes County Schools. In 1970, he married Ella Ford and to this union two children were born. He was a mechanic and enjoyed racing.
Lonnie leaves to cherish his memory two children, Tracy Nelson (Frank) and Lonnie M. Brown Jr. (Cortney) of Valdosta; six grandsons, Nicholas Perry, Kelby Brown, Xavier Nelson, Johsua Nelson, Riley Brown, and Tobey Brown of Valdosta; six brothers, Ben Brown, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., Isaiah Brown, Savannah, Maurice Brown, Valdosta, James Edward Brown, Pompano, Fla., Tommy Neal of Carol City, Fla. and Floyd Brown preceded him in death.; six sisters, Erma McCoggle (Rufus), Sharon Wright (Gil), Little Mary Wright, Valdosta, Bernice Carmark, Mirmar, Fla., Shirley Walker (Bennie), Hollywood, Fla. and Althea McBride (Willie James), Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; uncles, Floyd Crawford (Willa Marie), Valdosta, Leroy Irvin (Pearline) Atlanta, Willie Brown (Ola), Nashville, Ga. , Ivery Brown (Willie Mae ) Orange, Texas, and Joe Brown (Martha) Jacksonville, Fla.; aunts, Dorothy Cambridge, Mary Johnson (Lonnie) and Marie Wright, Valdosta; a host of beloved great uncles/aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a special caretaker, Phyllis Gibson.

Carol Deen Dinkins
Carol Deen Dinkins, 65, of Valdosta passed away Thursday May 24, 2007, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born on Sept. 16, 1941 in Thomasville, Ga., to the late Albert and Mildred Deen. Before retiring, Mrs. Dinkins taught school for 30 years. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Lonnie Dinkins of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law Deen and Eric McClintock, Marietta; son and daughter-in-law Chuck and Trish Dinkins of Valdosta; three grandchildren: Aidan, Emily and Lauren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, in the St. John Catholic Church with Father John O’Brien officiating. Shanna Marie Fesler
Shanna Marie Fesler, 20, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, May 24, 2007, at her residence. She was born in 1986 in Adel. Shanna came into this world with a very challenging life, but always seemed to enjoy her own quality of life. She was surrounded with love by her family and nurses. She was a strong fighter and very determined. She loved holidays, especially Christmas, going to the mall, Wild Adventures, riding the golf cart at her brother’s golf tournaments, and watching her sister dance in the Nutcracker and recitals.
She is survived by her parents, Richard and Marie Fesler of Valdosta; brother, Brent Fesler of Valdosta; sister, Kaylee Fesler of Valdosta; maternal grandfather, Ormond E. Rolfe of Dasher; paternal grandmother, Nadine Fesler of Valdosta; aunts and uncles, Becky and Billy Faircloth, Margaret and Benny Porter, all of Lake Park, Steve and Kellie Fesler, Sandra and Gene Seago, all of Valdosta; special cousin, Kristi Faircloth of Lake Park; cousins, Chase Faircloth, Amber Porter, Zach Porter all of Lake Park, Tillman Fesler of Valdosta, Caroline Eddings, Ponte Vedra, Fla. and her nurses, Denise Reynolds, Carol Stewart and Joe Steadman. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Dorothy E. Rolfe and paternal grandfather, Carl Fesler.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007, in Dasher Cemetery with the Rev. Michael P. Lyons officiating. Betty Sue Grant Martin
Betty Sue Grant Martin, 82, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Holly Hill Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born on Dec. 16, 1924, in Lowndes County to the late Wiley Cleveland and Eunice Clyde Davis Grant. Mrs. Martin was a retired homemaker and a charter member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church and the Christian Homebuilder’s Sunday School Class. She was involved in a nursing home ministry, a bridge club and delivered daily bread devotional’s.
Mrs. Martin is survived by one daughter, Brenda Freeman of Valdosta; two sons, Rick Martin III of Atlanta and Joe Martin of Valdosta; six grandchildren, Laura Lynn Mullis and her husband, Mike, Emmitt Nolan, Jr., Sunelle Johnson and her husband, Chris, Eric Martin, Joe Martin, Jr. and Jim Martin, great-grandson, Matthew Mullis; great-granddaughters, Madison Johnson and Kaley Johnson, three sisters-in-law, Verne Griffin and Sue Boyette of Hahira, Clois Martin of Lake Park; two brothers-in-law, Frank Crane and Norman C. Nichols, Sr. of Valdosta. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Richard “Dick” Martin, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 26, 2007, at 4 p.m. at the Park Avenue United Methodist Church with the Rev. Craig Rikard, Reverend V. L. Daughtery, and Emmitt Nolan, Jr. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Martin will lie in state in the church one hour prior to the service. Estherleen Grainger Renfroe, 83, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, in Nashville, Ga. Born in Conway, S.C., in 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Ruth Lee Graham Grainger. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and Woodman of the World.
Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Calvin and Belinda Renfroe, Randall and Mary Renfroe of Valdosta; grandchildren, Tori and Todd Mills of Lawrenceville, Derrick and Brandy Renfroe of Eldorado, Robert and Lisa Renfroe of Valdosta, Michael Renfroe of Florida, Lisa Renfroe of Virginia; great-grandchild, Peyton Ann Renfroe; sisters, Edna Moore of Valdosta and Frances Taylor of Conway, S.C., Connie James of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brothers, Cecil Grainger and A.D. Grainger of Conway, S.C., Laverne Grainger of Lexington, S.C.; special friends, Patty and Dave Gallman and Addis Crow. Mrs. Renfroe was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Renfroe, a son, Ken Renfroe, and a granddaughter, Kimberly Renfroe.
