Anyone can receive a free email newsletter each morning and afternoon from The Valdosta Daily Times.

Email newsletters are one way you can stay informed.

Email newsletter signup

And they are free.

Delivered to your inbox every morning and afternoon with top news headlines and important links to information you want and need to know, The Valdosta Daily Times daily newsletters are easy to set up and completely free. All you have to do is sign up.

Of course, we would love for you to subscribe and receive access to all the print and digital editions, along with our periodic premium editions and special sections but you might want to first familiarize yourself with the news we deliver each day, and we get that.

You can also sign up for free text notifications alerting you to breaking news, weather events and other important things happening in our community. So, what are you waiting for?

Simply go online to our website at valdostadailytimes.com and select the menu icon on the left side near the top of the page. When the menu appears, first select “Newsletter” and you will be asked to enter your name, email address and zip code and then check the boxes to receive breaking news and news updates and complete the process by hitting the “Sign Up” bar. It’s that simple.

Then, go back to the menu and select “Text Alerts.” You will see step-by-step instructions for how to sign up for the free push notification. There are a few more questions asking you to select the type of news and information you would like to receive notifications about and you can also select to have the notification sent to your email inbox.

Once again, it is free.

We want to be completely transparent about this.

There are two reasons this information is free. First, there are things such as dangerous weather or something like a bomb threat or significant traffic alert that we think should be provided to everyone, immediately as a community service and in the interest of public safety. Second, we want you to subscribe to our print and online editions.

We simply can’t supply all the news for free.

Maybe, receiving the daily newsletters in your inbox and the text alerts on your mobile device will help you see the value of the newspaper to the community and the need to support quality local journalism.

For less than the price of a cup of coffee each day, you can get full access to the print and digital editions and support important work, journalism that matters, in your community.
