Greater Valdosta Christmas Parade rescheduled for Friday, Dec. 8

VALDOSTA — The Greater Valdosta Christmas Parade has been rescheduled to Friday, Dec. 8. The event promises to spread holiday cheer and dazzle the community with a festive procession of floats, marching bands, and joyous participants.

Float participants are invited to set up their entries starting at 2 p.m. on Woodrow Wilson Drive, parade organizers said in a press release Monday. It will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so early arrival is recommended to secure a prime position in the parade lineup. Same-day applications will be available at the lineup from 2 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

“The committee understands that unforeseen changes may pose challenges for some participants,” the press release said. “However, please note that there will be no refunds for those who have already submitted their payment to participate. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.”

For those who still need to apply to participate, online applications will remain open until noon on Thursday, Dec. 7.

“We appreciate our community’s excitement in this annual event and look forward to seeing everyone there; the rescheduled date allows us to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators,” said Main Street Manager Kym Hughes.

The Greater Valdosta Christmas Parade is an annual event that brings the community together to celebrate the holiday season, organizers said. The parade features beautifully decorated floats, marching bands, and festive participants; the parade has become a beloved tradition in Valdosta, spreading joy and holiday spirit.
