VPD search finds drugs at residence

- Valdosta Police Department detectives found an assortment of illegal substances while serving a search warrant Sunday on Almond Tree Place.
VALDOSTA — Valdosta police detectives served a search warrant at a residence in the 1700 block of Almond Tree Place Sunday morning and discovered an assortment of illegal drugs, the VPD said in a press release Monday.
Detectives were at the residence about 10:35 a.m. following up on an investigation, the VPD said.
During a search of the residence, detectives located over 74 grams of crack cocaine, 131 grams of powder cocaine, 159 grams of an unknown white powder, 79 grams of marijuana, THC oil, and tools indicative of narcotics sales.
Officers arrested the sole resident, Jarvis Pierce, 33, and transported him to Lowndes County Jail. He has been charged with trafficking cocaine-felony; possession of marijuana with intent to distribute-felony; possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute-felony; possession of Schedule I controlled substance THC Oil-felony; and possession of drug-related objects-misdemeanor.
“Our detectives did an excellent job working together on this case. Because of a thorough investigation, these dangerous narcotics were seized and taken off of our streets,” said Police Chief Leslie Manahan.
