DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing

Charmaine Martin, a nurse in the emergency department, was nominated by a coworker in pediatrics. According to the nomination, the patient and sibling were in a very difficult situation, having arrived without proper winter clothing to keep them warm.

Martin got off her 12+ hour night shift and bought clothes, socks, and blankets for both children. She then returned to the hospital to deliver it to them.

“It was incredible to see the true compassion and care Charmaine displayed for this patient by going above and beyond to provide for their basic needs,” shared the coworker.

SGMC Health continues to ask patients and fellow employees to honor nurses they feel go above and beyond in their actions and care.

Nominations are reviewed by a committee based on criteria that include compassion, teamwork, leadership, attitude, and skills and knowledge.

DAISY awards are presented monthly in front of the nurse’s colleagues, physicians, patients, and visitors. Each honoree receives a certificate commending her or him for being an “Extraordinary Nurse.”

They also receive a beautiful sculpture called A Healer’s Touch, hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa. A special floral arrangement of daisies was generously donated by The Flower Gallery, the local sponsor of SGMC Health’s DAISY Award.

Chaparral and Robalo Boats awarded

NMMA CSI Award

For the 16th consecutive year, Chaparral and Robalo Boats were awarded the NMMA CSI Award for customer satisfaction. Chaparral received the award for the following segments: Sterndrive Bowrider and Fiberglass Outboard boats while Robalo was awarded for Fiberglass Outboard boats. Award recipients were recognized during NMMA’s Industry Breakfast at the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show.

“As recreational boating continues to welcome an influx of new boaters, we are committed to providing ever-improving experiences for new and existing boat owners before, during, and after their time spent on the water,” said Robert Newsome, senior vice president of operations for NMMA. “We applaud these boat and engine manufacturers for creating an exceptional purchase journey and product to ensure an outstanding experience that creates a life-long love of boating for boaters worldwide.”

The Marine Industry CSI Awards honor boat and engine manufacturers who actively measure customer satisfaction and pursue continuous improvement to better serve their customers. Award recipients achieved an independently measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past program year, based on information provided by customers purchasing a new boat or engine during the period between Jan. 1, 2023 and Dec. 31, 2023. Participating manufacturers must survey all new boat buyers during this period. This program is monitored and administered by the NMMA’s third-party partner, Rollick. Rollick provides independent survey data collection, tabulation, and reporting of customer satisfaction surveys responses. For this reporting period, the program surveyed more than 175,000 customers tracking customer satisfaction with the product, sales experience, delivery and service process in addition to product quality. This year’s award recipients can be found on the Boat Satisfaction website www.boatsatisfaction.com.

“We are honored once again to receive one of the highest awards in the marine industry. This award is only achieved by the hard work of our employees, dealers and vendor partners. We are grateful for their continued efforts to uphold the highest standards in customer satisfaction,” said Buck Pegg, founder of Chaparral Boats, Inc.
