Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Program scheduled April 4

VALDOSTA — The Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Program will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 4. The program will be held at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Park at the corner of South Ashley Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.

This event is held each year to commemorate and remember the life, the legacy, and the works of the late “drum major” Dr. King – who fought for justice for all mankind, according to a press release from the program’s organizers.

This year’s event will feature dance by local youth and music by the Valdosta Early College Academy Chorus. The event will also feature a dramatic oral presentation by Dr. Walter Lewis Jones.

The event is free and open to the public.
