The car sped off, almost hitting a deputy, and a chase followed for three miles at speeds above 120 mph, the posting said.

Occupants of the car were throwing suspected narcotics out of the window, even hitting the patrol car with some, the post said. The driver stopped in the middle of the highway and all four people in the car were taken into custody.

A K9 unit held the suspects at bay while a search of the car was conducted. A firearm, baggies of suspected marijuana and a scale of the type used in narcotics sales was found, the sheriff’s office said.
