VALDOSTA — A new cold storage facility planned for Valdosta will bring 100 jobs to the community, local officials said Wednesday.
P&B Cold Storage plans to build a new site at the Westside Industrial Park, a statement from the Valdosta-Lowndes Development Authority said.
The new facility is expected to open on or before Jan. 1, said Scott Parker, president of P&B. The company now operates a refrigerated warehouse operation in Woodburn, Ind.
P&B’s Valdosta operation is expected to generate more than $30 million in capital investments, the development authority said.
Parker said Valdosta’s location was the key in selecting the site. “This was a strategic location decision to fulfill the supply chain needs throughout the South, primarily Georgia and Florida.”
P&B also plans to open another facility in Indiana in 2025.
The company will conduct hiring through the online platform Indeed. Interested candidates can also email resumes to scott.parker@northamericancoldstorage.com. The company will hire for various positions, including supervisors, forklift operators, maintenance staff and customer service representatives.
