City of Valdosta recognizes Professional Municipal Clerks Week

VALDOSTA — The City of Valdosta recognized the contributions of City Clerk Teresa Bolden and Associate City Clerk Bryan Tillman during its commemoration of the 55th Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week, observed from May 5 to May 11.
Established in 1969 by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, Professional Municipal Clerks Week has not only gained widespread recognition across the United States, Canada, and 15 other countries, but also serves as a global moment of appreciation and reflection on the pivotal role played by municipal clerks in ensuring the smooth functioning of local governance, the city said in a press release.

The city recognized Bolden and Tillman’s contributions and dedication.
“Teresa Bolden, with over two decades of experience in municipal government, has been a beacon of excellence since joining in 2002,” the press release said. “Her achievements, such as attaining the Georgia Certified Municipal Clerk Certification and the Certified Municipal Clerk designation from the IIMC, underscore her commitment to professional development and proficiency in her role.
“As the associate city clerk, Bryan Tillman contributes his expertise in various facets of municipal operations, from ordinances and resolutions to open records,” the press release continued. “With a background encompassing both public and private sectors, Bryan seamlessly integrates his skills to address the diverse needs of Valdosta citizens and the community. His prior roles, including assistant to the vice president and executive directors at RaceTrac and positions at the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce, reflect his versatility and dedication to community service.”
Mayor Scott James Matheson said, “Teresa Bolden and Bryan Tillman play pivotal roles in ensuring the effective operation of our city government. Their dedication, professionalism, and attention to detail are integral to the success of Valdosta. We are grateful for their unwavering commitment to serving our community.”
