LAMP opens cold shelter in Valdosta

VALDOSTA — As Lowndes County’s temperatures start dipping into the 20s, a local organization is offering a cold weather refuge to those in need.
LAMP, at 714 Charlton Street, Valdosta, will keep its day center open overnight from Monday through Saturday, a statement from the organization said. The overnight shelter will be open each night from 6 p.m.-7 a.m.
The organization is also seeking donations for cold weather operations, including hot cocoa, coffee, sugar, coffee cream, paper cups and paper plats, the statement said.
