VALDOSTA — The Turner Center for the Arts has extended the entry deadline for the 5th Annual Art of Writing Contest to Wed., Jan. 22. Students in fifth through twelfth grades are invited to enter original works of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Cash prizes will be awarded in each category at the middle and high school levels, resulting in $2,500 awarded to youth. Winning submissions and honorable mentions will be professionally published in an anthology. The theme for 2025 is “Courage.” The contest is open to students in Georgia and the surrounding states.

The contest is sponsored in part by Greater Valdosta United Way, the Georgia Council for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, Snake Nation Press and the Valdosta Daily Times.
