VALDOSTA —  Valdosta City Schools will remain closed on Thursday, Jan. 23, due to hazardous road conditions across the area. Local emergency management officials strongly advise residents to stay off the roads for safety.

“We encourage everyone to monitor updates from the Lowndes Emergency Management Agency (EMA) for the latest information,” the school system said in announcing the continued closure. “Your safety is our top priority—please stay safe, stay warm, and stay home.”

Classes are expected to resume on Friday. Should there be any changes to this schedule, the system will promptly notify families through its website, social media platforms, and mass notification system.
