VALDOSTA — A fire Sunday kept the fire department busy during the evening hours.

Around 9:02 p.m., firefighters headed to a structure fire at 705 Langdale Drive, a Valdosta Fire Department statement said.

They found flames and heavy smoke coming from a single-family home.

A search confirmed no one was inside, though one person was displaced by the blaze and is staying with friends, the fire department said.

The cause of the fire is being investigated; police and EMTs assisted on the scene.
