All-Region rosters highlight players across 1-6A

VALDOSTA— Basketball coaches from across the region met virtually to assemble the All-Region Team accolades and rosters. This process recognizes the impactful players and staff throughout the season.

Girls’ All-Region Standouts

Kaci Demps (Lowndes) was crowned Region Player of the Year on the girls’ side. Mmekom inyang (Richmond Hill) was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Amira Walters-Smith (Colquitt) was honored as Offensive Player of the Year.

Coach Courtney Fleming (Lowndes) was named Coach of the Year, recognizing her ability to inspire and lead her team to success.

“That [Region Coach of the Year] would not happen if I did not have the kids that I have in this program. It is all about them going out there, week in and week out, putting in the work and effort to make this program what it is,” stated Fleming. “Honestly, it is more of a reflection of the kids than it is of me.”

Girls’ All-Region Teams

The 1st Team All-Region was stacked with talent, including Aryana Thomas (Lowndes), Kayla Jackson (Lowndes), Jada Brown (Richmond Hill), Cullen McCormick (Richmond Hill), Amareiya Knighton (Colquitt), Naeardia Robinson (Colquitt), Mahliya Reeder (Camden), Ty Tionna Scott (Camden), Jalaya Miller (Tifton), and Lauren Bloom (Valdosta).

The 2nd Team All-Region showcased rising stars such as Shamiah Webb (Lowndes), Bryana Thomas (Lowndes), Emari Brown (Richmond Hill), Summer Eberhart (Valdosta), Caylin Singletary (Colquitt), Mackenzie Holliday (Tifton), Amiya Jordan (Tift), Lea’Nah Parrish (Camden), and I’Mya Albertie (Camden).

Boys’ All-Region Standouts

Jabarri Williams (Valdosta) earned the prestigious title of Player of the Year, recognizing his outstanding performance and ability to lead his team. Kam Jackson (Lowndes) was named Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row, while the defensive side was dominated by Isaiah Camon (Lowndes) and Cordell Nelson (Tift), who shared the Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Rising stars also shined this season, with Kanilyn Jones (Colquitt) being recognized as Impact Player of the Year and Marcus Moore (Colquitt) taking home the Newcomer of the Year award.

Coaching excellence was also acknowledged, with Reshon Benjamin (Lowndes) earning Coach of the Year. 

“It is an individual award, but a collective effort,” stated Benjamin. “I have a staff that does a really good job and kids who buy in. The hard work, dedication, and sacrifices do not go unnoticed.”

Boys’ All-Region Teams

The 1st Team featured standout players like Kaden Lawson (Tift), Brandon Brown (Valdosta), Joshua Scott (Richmond Hill), J.J. Lamar (Tift), and Cason Harden (Colquitt).

The 2nd Team included Caleb Reed (Camden), Tarrell Green Jr. (Lowndes), Jakhari Byrd (Colquitt), Corey Howard (Valdosta), and Kaiden Brown (Lowndes).

Several other players across the region were also recognized with Honorable Mentions for their impressive performances.
