VALDOSTA — A traffic stop resulted in an arrest on drug charges Sunday.
Around 9 p.m., a police officer saw a truck run a red light in the 1100 block of North St. Augustine Road, a Valdosta Police Department statement said.
The officer stopped the truck and talked to the driver; police said the officer smelled a marijuana odor coming from the truck.
A search of the truck turned up more than two pounds of marijuana, 17 grams of ecstasy and “currency indicative of narcotics sales,” the police statement said.
The driver — described as a 35-year-old Lowndes County man — was charged with felony possession of MDMA with the intent to distribute, felony possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and misdemeanor disregard of traffic control device, the statement said.’
