Sam Day

Sam Day, age 61, of Day, Fla. passed away on Thursday, July 31, at the VA Hospital in Gainesville. He was born in Winamac, IN, and worked in the construction industry most of his life. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War; a member of G. Company 75th Airborne Ranger LRRP team. He was awarded 2 Purple Hearts along with a Bronze Star medal.

He was preceded in death by his father Walter M. Day, and his mother Vyllis Day both of Lakeland, Fla.

Survived by his wife, Deborah Howard Day of Day, Fla., sister: Sue Harrell of Lakeland, Fla., grandchildren; Brittany Day and Ben Wilson, along with nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at Florida National Cemetery with full Military Honors, at Bushnell Florida on Friday, August 29, at 2:30 p.m.

Arrangements are under the care of Moring Funeral Home in Melrose, Fla.
