Georgia Christian dominates Open Bible, 17-0

DASHER — Colton Hall’s standout performance at the plate powered the Georgia Christian Varsity Generals to a commanding 17-0 victory over Open Bible Christian on Tuesday. Hall drove in four runs on a single hit, including a two-run single in the first inning.

The Generals set the tone early, exploding for 12 runs in the opening frame. Key plays included an error that brought in two runs, a sacrifice lineout from Hayden Coats that scored one, and RBI singles from Carson Hanks and Bo Miller. Mac Bowling contributed with a bases-loaded walk, and Benji Galindo delivered a two-run double. Hall followed with his two-run single, while Hanks and Miller each added RBI singles.

Georgia Christian continued their offensive dominance in the second inning, tacking on five more runs. Adrian Trejo and Will Stewart each notched RBI singles, while Louis Roquemore drew a bases-loaded walk. William Wilson capped off the inning with a two-run double.

Galindo earned the win on the mound, throwing three shutout innings. The right-hander allowed just two hits, struck out seven, and issued one walk. Open Bible Christian’s Campbell Avant took the loss, surrendering eight runs (four earned) on eight hits over one and one-third innings. Mitchell Parnell also saw action, allowing nine unearned runs on one hit while walking three.

Offensively, Georgia Christian tallied nine hits. Hanks led the team with two hits in two at-bats. Hanks, Bowling, and Hall also showcased their speed, stealing multiple bases. The Generals were aggressive on the base paths, racking up eight stolen bases overall.

Defensively, the Generals were flawless, committing no errors. Jett Guilliams anchored the defense with four solid plays.

Zeke Mindziak and Carter Watkins managed a hit apiece for Open Bible Christian.

The Georgia Christian varsity Generals will look to keep their momentum going as they head to Sherwood Christian Academy for their next game on Friday, March 28.
