Erin Yoo, a senior at Lowndes High School, has been named a semifinalist for the 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.
Yoo is among only 621 students selected from a pool of more than 6,000 candidates nationwide. Candidates were evaluated on their academic achievement, personal characteristics, leadership and service activities, and an analysis of their essay. Yoo earned a perfect ACT score of 36, a rare and outstanding accomplishment that contributed to her selection.
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, established in 1964, honors graduating seniors who demonstrate excellence in academics, the arts, or career and technical education. Finalists will be announced later this spring by U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon.
