More than 100 parents, educators, community pastors and residents looking to aid our youth turned out Tuesday night in support of Hamilton County High School’s latest plan to improve our schools.

In an effort to raise parental involvement and increase awareness of the tough problems our students face – both academically and on a personal level – the administration of HCHS presented Parent University Night.

Attendees were asked to choose three classes they would like to attend, from a list of more than 12 choices, to hear current information on the problems at hand.

Following the learning sessions, everyone gathered in the school’s cafeteria and were treated to a hamburger and French fry dinner. While in the lunch room, a time of discussion, networking and fellowship with other parents or educational professionals was afforded the attendees.

At the program’s conclusion, numerous door prizes were drawn for and awarded to participants. One chance for the drawing was entered for each classroom block the parent or visitor attended.

Whether winning a door prize or not, all who attended this most informative session walked away with award winning information needed to help parents and educators win in the battle for the children of our community.
