A new face at the News

Joyce (Jo) Ross has joined The Jasper News as a reporter, publisher Myra Regan announced.
Ross, a resident of Hamilton County since 1975, says she is looking forward to reporting on topics of interest to our community. As a parent, youth leader and former law enforcement officer, Ross has a broad based understanding of the problems that face our area residents as well as the need for recognition of jobs well done.
“By working together, residents, media, our local law enforcement and area leaders can stay well informed on current issues and build a stronger community,” said Ross. “Let’s put the hometown feeling back into our local paper.”
Ross joins administrative assistant Candice Pike at the newspaper office. Together they will strive to provide information to our community in a fair and timely manner.
“It will be impossible for all stories to have personal coverage from newspaper staff,” noted Ross, “so we encourage the submission of team, group or civic activity articles from you, the reader.”
Photos are welcome. Submissions may be dropped off at our office or preferably e-mailed to us at jaspernews1@alltel.net.
