Four armed men forced their way into a Live Oak home early Tuesday and robbed its seven occupants. Of the victims, all adults, one suffered a minor head wound after being struck with the butt of a gun. Live Oak Police Chief Buddy Williams said the men, each carrying a handgun, stole an undisclosed amount of money.
The robbery occurred at 12:26 a.m. on Hamilton Avenue, just blocks from a similar incident Feb. 2 on Davis Street.
“We’ve had extra patrols in that area,” said Williams. “We’re asking the Hispanic community to take extra precautions and know your surroundings.”
Williams said to help deter potential robbers residents should lock their doors and avoid keeping large amounts of cash on hand.
In the Feb. 2 robbery, two men forced their way into a home and tied up the resident, fleeing with cash.
Police are still searching for suspects in both cases. The suspects in this morning’s robbery are described as African American men, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, 130-150 pounds wearing all black.
