Mr. James Alton “Bud” Lawson age 71 of Starke passed away Friday, September 11, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Lawson was born on September 15, 1937 to the late Henry Alton and Ada Eugina Register Lawson, and was a longtime area resident. Bud was a retired Social Worker with the State of North Carolina Juvenile Probation and was a Charter Member of Madison Street Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Army. Survivors are: his son: Terry H. Wheeler of Marion, NC; sisters: Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Lawson and Agnes “Aggie” Morar (Bill) both of Panama City; Julia “Mimi” Jordan (Joe) of Live Oak; brother: Charles Lawson of Tallahassee. Memorial services for Mr. Lawson will be on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL, 514 E. Nona St., Starke, with Mr. Andy Jordan officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Crosby Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Starke Dialysis Center, 444 W. Madison St., Starke, FL 32091.
