Mary Eleanor Brown

NASHVILLE — Mary Eleanor Brown, 75, of Nashville died on Monday, July 1, 2002, at Berrien Nursing Center. She was born on Jan. 3, 1927, in Berrien County to Leonard and Thelma Paulk Connell. She was a homemaker and member of Nashville Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Leburn J. Brown of Nashville; one daughter, Helen Jurmu of Green Bay, Wis.; three sons, Robert Brown, Jackson Miss., Johnny Brown, Atlanta, Mike Brown, Columbia, Mo. ; four grandchildren; and one brother, Wilson Connell of Nashville. Graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Nashville Memorial Gardens with Mr. Ian Burgin officiating. Matthew Ertlschweiger

VALDOSTA — Matthew Ertlschweiger, 15, of Valdosta died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born at Moody Air Force Base on June 11, 1987, and was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church. Matthew is survived by his parents, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Herman “Hap” and Sandra Ertlschweiger of Valdosta; special caregivers, Donald and Betty Louise Tyree of Valdosta; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jennifer Ertlschweiger and Gabe Vera of Karlsruhe, Germany and Lindsey Baker of Valdosta; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Justin and Molly Baker of Augusta, Marcus and Martin Ertlschweiger of Valdosta; paternal grandparents, Herman and Jeanette Ertlschweiger of Quincy, Pa.; maternal grandparents, Minnie Lee and George Wesley Funderburke of Albany; niece, Josie Dodd; and nephew, Alex Vera. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2002, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. — Carson McLane Funeral Home



The Rev. Jesse B Castleberry, 76, of Tifton (formerly of Lowndes Co.) died June 30, 2002 at Tift Regional Medical Center after a short illness. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Ousley Baptist Church in Lowndes County with the Rev. Dillard Ensley, the Rev. Calvin Bobo, and the Rev. Leland Strickland officiating. Omar Emanuel Orta-Martinez, infant son of Omar Orta Martinez and Sara Ann Orta-Martinez (Drew) passed away Monday evening, July 1, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at San Jose Catholic Church in Lake Park. — Music Funeral Services of Valdosta is serving the Orta-Martinez family.
