- Paul Leavy/The Valdosta Daily Times Phillip Walker in the studio of his photography business located on Bemiss Road in Valdosta.
VALDOSTA — At age 13, Phillip Walker began working with his father, Garland Walker, who owned an Olan Mills photography studio named Life Touch. He carried equipment and learned his father’s trade during his young years. After high school, he found that photography was something he could turn into a career.
His career led him through photography school at North Georgia Technical Institute (now known as North Georgia Technical College), and many years of work with a local studio. Recently, he decided it was time to branch out and start his own business. From this idea, Phillip Walker Photography was born.
The new, all-digital studio focuses on in-studio and on-site photography of families, children and weddings. However, Walker has the ability to do all types of photography. Clients can use a variety of props and backdrops, including unique items like a rocking motorcycle and traditional chairs, ladders, numbers, letter blocks and more.
Sessions run from 30 minutes to one hour, with prices varying depending upon purpose and location. Results from sessions are stored on a backup drive and on DVD. All photos can be custom-printed in color, black and white or sepia tone with the possibilities of retouching and photo enhancement.
Walker has created a friendly, relaxed, family-oriented atmosphere in which he gives extra attention to customer’s wants and needs. His love for photography is translated in his relationship with clients, according to his father.
A Valdosta native, Walker plans to remain in business in the Azalea City for the rest of his career. Anyone looking for an experienced photographer in a fresh new studio should give Phillip Walker Photography the chance to create and capture memories forever.
