Registration opens for Black Business Expo

VALDOSTA — The Southern Georgia Black Chambers (SGBC) recently announced registration for its much anticipated Southern Georgia Black Business Expo 2023, which is set to showcase the diverse talents, entrepreneurship, and resources within the local region. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Valdosta State University, University Center.

Among the event highlights are keynote speaker, David T. Cuffie, a renowned national motivational speaker and corporate trainer. According to the organizers, Cuffie’s wealth of experience and inspiring words will provide attendees an insightful session on personal and professional growth.

Additional highlights include the expo’s CEO Roundtable where business leaders will engage in a discussion regarding successful business strategies and regional developments.

Among others, the CEO Roundtable will feature Tommie Beth Willis, regional director for ACE — South Georgia. ACE (Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs) catalyzes entrepreneurial growth through financing and education, with a focus on women, people of color, and low- to moderate-income business owners.

The event is open to the public and will have a variety of vendor showcases for attendees to explore a wide array of products and services from regional businesses, ranging from innovative startups to well-established enterprises.

“This is a unique opportunity to discover and support local ventures and forge valuable connections with fellow entrepreneurs, community leaders, and potential collaborators. The expo provides a platform for meaningful interactions and relationship building,” stated Kimberly Grisson-Dixon, VP of Events & Programs for the SGBC.
