SGMC welcomes Dr. James Davis
VALDOSTA – Dr. James Davis has joined South Georgia Medical Center as an endocrine surgeon.
Davis performs laparoscopic adrenalectomy.
“It is a minimally invasive technique that is performed by making three or four one-fourth to one-half inch incisions,” Davis said. “Laparoscopic surgeries are generally less painful, provide better cosmetic results and have a smaller risk for infection, making them preferred by patients and surgeons alike.
Rogers joins The Signatry: A Global Christian Foundation
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Signatry: A Global Christian Foundation recently announced Wendy Rogers, a former Valdosta resident, has joined the team as vice president, national relationship manager.
Rogers, based in Richmond, Va., works with clients to grow generosity and family legacy through donor advised funds, complex asset gifts and other creative giving solutions.
Rogers is a third-generation family business owner and former corporate leader with 25 years of experience in talent development and organizational leadership, branding and market development, financial and operational stewardship, and nonprofit strategy and governance, according to company representatives.
She spent much of her career in diverse roles for Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies Dow Chemical, DuPont and Chick-fil-A. Within her family office, Rogers serves as director, Griffin Family Investments, and director, Griffin Family Foundation, where she works in partnership with strategic advisors and family in stewarding all that has been entrusted to them in time, talents, relationships and resources.
“As someone who has first-hand experience transitioning a family business and leading a subsequent family foundation, Wendy is uniquely qualified to advise our clients in defining and preserving their legacy,” said Bill High, chief executive officer, The Signatry.
Desiring additional expertise in the financial realm, Rogers recently completed an executive program at Northwestern Kellogg School of Management and received a certification in private wealth management at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in international business from the University of Georgia.
Rogers serves alongside Anthony Strange, The Signatry president, national relationship manager, who shares her passion for relationship building and generous giving, company representatives said.
“Wendy loves people and building authentic relationships,” Strange said. “We share a common belief that generosity isn’t just about money — it’s people, time and every other resource we have.”
Rogers helped build a 501(c)(3) organization, Karama Collection, that has a mission to alleviate poverty by restoring dignity through creative, purposeful work for artisans, beginning in Africa.
Rogers said her most inspirational role is as mother and door holder for her three daughters with husband Chuck.
Raised in Valdosta, she said she treasures her Southern roots and spending time with family in Georgia, Alabama and Florida where her family cherishes making lifelong memories with each generation at their beach home.
