Car Club hosts annual show

VALDOSTA – They’re coming.
Classic cars, trucks, motorcycles and more are coming Saturday Nov. 3.
The South Georgia Classic Car Club will hold its 35th Annual Car, Truck and Motorcycle show.
At least 100 vehicles are expected for the show, organizers said.
The show is open to all makes and models of vehicles. Most of the vehicles come from within a 100-mile radius of Valdosta, organizers said.
All vehicles will be vying for the top awards in each class. In addition to the judged awards, there will be the Presidents Award, Kids Choice award and the Best of Show Award. Music from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s will be playing throughout the day.
Food vendors and others will be in attendance with their wares. Spectators and car participants alike will be competing in a 50/50 raffle drawing; participants must be present to win, organizers said.
The 2018 car show will be held at Five Points Shopping Center, 3101 N. Ashley St. Gates will open 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, for car participants and spectators. Car registration is $20 per vehicle. Show is free to all spectators.
Judging will start at 11 a.m. with awards presented at 1:30 p.m., organizers said.
The South Georgia Classic Car Club uses the event each year to raise funds for the Lowndes County Georgia Sheriffs Boys and Girls Ranch scholarship program.
