“Shark Tank” is a show where people with business endeavors try convincing a panel to invest in them, said Emily Dokoupil, general manager. Cinnaholic was one of the Top 10 businesses to be featured on the TV show.

Dokoupil said Cinnaholic is a quickly growing chain in 38 cities throughout the country including Atlanta and Athens, Las Vegas, Miami, Knoxville, Tenn., and now Valdosta. She said the company plans to open about 100 more stores in the next year or so.

“At Cinnaholic, everything is gourmet. They are large gourmet rolls. Everything in our restaurant is handcrafted. Almost every product is made fresh daily,” Dokoupil said.

While the bakery serves a myriad of products, its titular product is its cinnamon rolls. Each guest that comes through the door has the option to start with a traditional roll with a flavored frosting and add one of 18 regular frostings or use one of the seasonal frostings, she said.

Some of the regular frostings include cream cheese, cake batter, coffee, almond and chocolate. Seasonal frostings, such as elderflower and matcha, will be available.

“Elderflower is sweet, fruity and is aromatic,” Dokoupil said. “Matcha has a traditional green tea flavor and is somewhere between a sweet and a tart.”

Dokoupil described the frostings as being “lighter and fluffier than icings that are going to be thin and melt off the top. The frosting is going to be thick and decadent. Our product is a more gourmet product that is ethically and humanely resourced and is a healthier option for our guests.”

After picking a frosting, guests can pick from one of the 20 free toppings available. Some of the toppings include pie crumbles, almonds, pecans, apple bananas, pretzels, marshmallows, crème filled chocolate cookies, brownie bites, fresh cut strawberries, strawberry jams, in-house made peanut butter cups, etc.

“Our pie crumbles are made in house,” Dokoupil said. “Cream cheese frosting and blueberry pairs really well with it. It’s almost like a blueberry pie.”

Along with the cinnamon rolls, a house-made cookie dough is sold by the scoop. Some flavors include Cinna-doodle cookies and chocolate chip cookies. The bakery makes brownies and smaller cinnamon rolls called baby buns.

The cookie dough is raw and ready to eat, she said. It does not contain any animal products.

It’s not all food though. Cinnaholic offers several drinks for customers to try.

“We have a wide variety of drinks,” Dokoupil said, “fresh brewed lemonade, coffee, tea, watermelon tea and peach tea. Seasonally, we will have a blackberry tea that will be available in the fall. We also have regular sweet and unsweet tea. Nitrobrew coffee will also be available in both flavored and unflavored coffee.”

The company will offer almond milk, soy milk and oat milk to accommodate for creamers. Coke products will also be available for purchase.

Cinnaholic makes its food using plant-based products.

“The restaurant is vegan-friendly as well as being friendly to most diets,” Dokoupil said. “A lot of our consumers seek out Cinnaholic because of our dedication to humanely and ethically sourced ingredients. Overall, it is just a better option for you. It’s a healthier option.”

She said the restaurant’s food has a third of the calories compared to similar products and contains no cholesterol, dairy, animal byproducts or eggs.

Cinnaholic Gourmet Cinnamon Rolls, 1609 Norman Drive, Suite A2, is open 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday. Hours may change when school is in session next fall to accommodate students.
