VALDOSTA — In 2009, zombies overtook Wild Adventures Theme Park.
In 2017, the experience is being memorialized by Explore Georgia and the Georgia Department of Economic Development during Georgia’s “Year of Film.”
“Zombieland,” a post-apocalyptic zombie comedy starring Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson, used Wild Adventures as “Pacific Playland,” the theme park the main characters are attempting to reach for the duration of the film.
The selfie spot sits in front of Firecracker, the ride where two of the characters fought off a zombie horde.
The spot within Wild Adventures marks the only spot in this region. The other locations can be found at exploregeorgia.org. All mark notable places where films or television shows have been filmed within the state.
Officials urge people who utilize the selfie spot to tag photos with #GeorgiaFilm and #ExploreGeorgia.
