UPDATE: Police: Victim dies in Valdosta shooting

- One person was shot Tuesday morning along the 600 block of East Jane Street, according to the Valdosta Police Department.
UPDATE 11:45 a.m.: The victim has died at the hospital according to Lt. Adam Bembry. He was identified as a 39-year-old African-American male.
The man was standing on the street when an altercation took place and he was shot multiple times, Bembry said.
Lowndes County sheriff’s deputies were the first to arrive on scene and performed CPR before the victim was transported to the hospital where he died, Bembry said.
The person of interest is being questioned according to authorities.
UPDATE 11: 25 a.m.: The victim is in serious condition according to Valdosta Police Department.
VALDOSTA — One person was shot Tuesday morning near the 600 block of East Jane Street, according to the Valdosta Police Department.
A suspect was detained after a victim was shot around 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to VPD Lt. Adam Bembry.
Bembry said the VPD may be looking for others related to the incident.
