HAHIRA — Valwood School will hold its inaugural Holiday Tour of Homes, 1-4:30 p.m., Dec. 10, in celebration of the school’s 50th anniversary.
Susanna Dover, director of development and alumni relations at Valwood, explained why the school chose to hold the event.
“We wanted to come up with a unique and creative way to fundraise for Valwood while also incorporating community involvement,” she said.
“We felt like this would be something the community would get excited about,” she said.
The tour will consist of six homes and will be self-guided. After purchasing the $30 ticket, participants can attend the homes in whatever order they would like, with refreshments being served at three of the homes, Dover said.
The homeowners include Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dover, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Ganas, Mr. and Mrs. Rob Evans, Maura Respess and Drs. Fernando and Caryn Alvarado.
Dover said each of the homeowners are parents to current Valwood students, except for the Dovers who are former Valwood parents.
There is a variety of styles represented in the tour, such as mid-century, historic and new builds. Dover said there will be plenty of opportunity for decor inspiration as well.
For a playful twist, she said the Evans home will feature “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” theme.
Tickets can be purchased online from valwood.org/events/tour_of_homes.cfm or at the following locations: Steel’s Jewelry, Mizell Floor Covering & Interiors, Art & Soul and A+B, Etc.
Will call tickets the day of the tour will also be available at 4525 Robert Drive in Cherry Creek North, Dover said.
Sponsors for the event include AVS, Inc., BFB Galdwin Architects, Bobby Dollar’s Appliance Consultants, Connell Cabinets & Millworks and Esposito Lawn & Garden Center.
