The bodies of Angela Brooks and Nancy Cushman were discovered in a wooded area by a passer-by early Thursday, The Augusta Chronicle reported.

Police said Brooks was 19 years old from Warrenville, S.C., and Cushman was 17 or 18 and from Warrenville or Beech Island. Each had been shot at least one time. An autopsy was planned for Friday morning.

Authorities were searching for Travis Lorenzo Berrian, 26, who they believe could have information about the deaths. Investigators emphasized that he is not considered a suspect.

The woman were last seen with an unknown man around 12:30 a.m. Investigators believe the woman were killed at the site where their bodies were found and that the suspect or suspects drove Cushman’s Cadillac Escalade to spot about a mile and a half away and abandoned it.

Anyone with information about the case was urged to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 821-1080. A reward is being offered, but it was not specified.
