Pine Grove Middle Basketball wins final two games before playoffs

Pine Grove Middle School’s seventh grade boys basketball team defeated J.L. Newbern, 30-27, in a hard fought defensive battle on Tuesday evening.

Aaron Lewis and Martel Robinson led Pine Grove scorers with nine points apiece. Trevonne Swift added six points and AJ Kendrick chipped in three.

Jakari Jordan and Tayshawn Ramsey each had two points in the victory.

A day later Pine Grove scored another huge

victory, this one a 45-16 romp over rival Hahira Middle.

Aaron Lewis once again led Pine Grove in scoring, dropping 11 points in the blowout. AJ Kendrick had 10 points and Jakari Jordan and Martell Robinson added six points each.

Cornelius Wright and Camaron Williams scored three points each as well and Cameron Carter, Tayshaun Ramsey, Adam Rucker and Daniel Uelman all added 2 points each.

Trey Davis, Jacquez McKinney, Paul Montgomery, Tyler Ratcliff and Trevonne Swift also played key roles in the win.

Pine Grove Middle’s regular season ends with a 8-2 record before the beginning of the playoffs on Jan. 23.
