Parrish, Robinson share All-Region honors

VALDOSTA — Region 1-6A football awards have been released and, for once, Lowndes and Valdosta will have to share. Co-Region Player of the Year went to two players — Todd Robinson of Valdosta and Marvis Parrish of Lowndes.

Though hampered by injuries during region play, Robinson threw for 1,691 yards in 2024, completing nearly 70% of his passes with 16 touchdowns. Incredibly elusive on the ground, Robinson ran for 499 yards and 11 touchdowns in nine games.

Parrish is Region 1-6A’s Swiss Army knife, excellent wherever he is on the field.

He averaged 9.3 yards per carry this season, leading Lowndes with 813 yards and 17 scores. Parrish threw 11 passes year, completing nine for two touchdowns and 110 yards. Need a receiver? Parrish is good at that, too, catching 25 balls for 341 yards and four more touchdowns. He also has 59 yards in kickoff returns, according to official stats.

Coach of the Year is Colquitt County’s Sean Calhoun for leading the Packers to the 1-6A championship, with Brett Fitzgerald Special Teams Player of the Year. Camden County had Offensive Player of the Year in Elyiss williams and Athlete of the Year in David Coleman. Richmond Hill’s Lee Johnson was Defensive Player of the Year.

Thirteen Vikings and 10 Wildcats were first team selections.

On offense, Valdosta landed running back Marquis Fennell, lineman Simeon Roundtree and receiver Prince Jean. On defense, it was Marcus Williams and Jimyll Lundy on the line, linebackers Zamarion Williams, Tremaine Johnson and Kobi Brown, cornerback Jalon Copeland and safety Cam Brown.

Lowndes’ Jayce Johnson was one of two first team quarterbacks, along with Camden’s Parks Riendeau. Aidan Sefa was named as a tight end and Jaylin Carter as a wide receiver. Two Lowndes offensive linemen, Ben Corhei and Abram Eisenhower made first team, along with kicker Aiden Andrews.

Defensively, Kaleb Barron and Montel Hundley were picks on the defensive line, with linebackers Lorenzo Muneton, Jayden Stallworth and Landen Wright. Ethan Jackson earned a spot at corner and Tre Thomas as a safety.

Second team selections were Aalim Brown (RB), Eli Moore (OL), KJ Massey (CB) and Jamarcus Parrish (S) for Lowndes. Ashton Beaufort (OL), Eldemetrius Hunter (WR), Tres Ellison (CB), Seth Brown (S) and Khalil Mollay (S) were Valdosta’s second team picks.
