BRANFORD — Tiny Miss Freedom USA Yazmin Hernandez and Young Miss Freedom USA Emma Sapp hosted Cookies & Books with VPK at Branford Love N Care on Monday.

Hernadez is in the first grade at Branford Elementary School and Sapp is a 2015 Branford High School graduate and current Santa Fe College student.

Miss Freedom USA is a pageant about promoting confidence in young women, while promoting our military. The inaugural event was held July 29. 

Hernandez and Sapp  promoted the #FreedomofEducation by sharing the love of learning and reading to the Branford Love N Care VPK Class of 2018.

The pageant system also supports K9s for Warriors and USO (United Service Organization), along with two other local military organizations to further the mission and bring recognition to respected charities.

Sapp said it was very exciting to compete in the pageant is is very rewarding to promote the military.

Hernandez wants to be a kindergarten teacher and was very excited to read to the children.
