Moultrie-Colquitt County Recreation registration now available online

MOULTRIE – The process to register for the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks & Recreation Department youth athletics program is now easier. Thanks to a new recreation software program offered by REC1 and being used by the Recreation Department, parents have the option of registering from the convenience of their home using a credit or debit card for payment. The unveiling of the software comes just in time with the heaviest youth sports registration (baseball and softball) coming up Jan. 30 through Feb. 3.

“REC1 has been an industry leader since 2007 in online recreation software so we are excited to partner with them in helping to streamline our registration process for our parents and enhance the reporting capabilities for our staff,” said Terry Peek, recreation director.

“To register online, an individual can go to the City of Moultrie website at moultriega.com. There you will find an article titled 2017 Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks & Recreation Department Recreator-Spring. Under that heading you will find a link to click here for online registration. This takes you to the recreation software page which shows the activities or sports offered in the spring.

“If you are interested in baseball, click on BASEBALL and the different baseball age divisions will drop down with a brief description of those activities. Next click on the age division you are interested in and a page will come up with detailed information about that age division.

“To register your child, the parent will first need to CREATE AN ACCOUNT as the Account Holder. Click the CREATE AN ACCOUNT button and complete the information required. Once you create an account as the account holder, you may add your child/children as Account Members then register them into the recreation activity of your choice and acknowledge the release of liability waiver and Heads Up concussion protocol.

“After the initial set up of your account, all you have to do for future registration is log in and click what you want to register for. You do not have to complete the registration form over and over again as you would if you register in person.

“The payment process is simple. You will be asked to submit payment information using a credit or debit card number and then asked to verify your transaction. Once you verify your registration, an email will be sent to your email address verifying registration or you may print off a receipt yourself after confirming the information is accurate.

“The cost to register for youth sports is $50 per participant. There is a convenience fee of $1.80 charged per transaction online to register. Your account will have the same information that you would normally provide on your registration card if you register in person. However, by creating an account online you can access the account at any time by using your password. Then you can add siblings, update contact info, or sign up for other programs without having to provide the personal data for each season that you want your child to participate.

“Persons wishing to move their child up to another age group or those wishing to request low income discounts will not be able to register online. These exceptions may be limited in number, require additional documentation to qualify, or require staff approval in order to process. Registration by credit or debit cards is only available online and cannot be processed at the recreation office.”

To help promote the new software this spring, Peek said the Recreation Department will be having a drawing in February to award two free registration packages (a value of $50 each) that can be used to register a child in future recreation programs.
